1994 Nissan Sentra 1.6L 4cyl. Whenever I accelerate it stutters, or hesitates until I let up on the gas a little bit, and if I keep going, it goes away after a little bit. For instance, once in second gear, I would get it up to around 40 and just before it hits that, it will all of a sudden increase in pickup. It never did it about a month ago, only recently. Would it be my fuel injector again, which was just replaced? Fuel filter? Fuel Pump? Bad gas with oxygenate? If anyone has an idea as to what it may be, please let me know it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Stuttering, Possibly Hesitation
sounds like wires. check them. if they are on right (tight) then pull the plugs and check for oil on them. you could have a busted headgasket, or a blown motor... it is possable that your fuel filter is stoped up... take it off and turn it upside down and let the fuel in it drain into a cup or something. if it has chunks of stuff deffently replace it... its motor related, nothing to do with your tranny. check your oil it sounds like the cycl. walls could be cracked, or your headgasket is cracked/blown. again just pull the plugs and look for oil, or if they are really REALLY fouled out clean them and see if that fixes the problem.

..
I had the same problem last week with mine right after I cleaned under the hood.. some water got in the plugs, and it was doing the same thing.
You probably just got some oil or water in there like stated above :-) Or since I just read and edited cuz u have new plugs.. did you get stock ones or did u buy a new type? Sentra's dont deal well with extended plugs... shorter ones or stock are best :-) |
