Enigine swapin questions

I know you guys will all laugh at me when I ask his, but I'm gonna do it anyway. What exactly is a LS1, and how hard would it be to drop one in my '97 v6? I'm sure it's prolly a really expensive motor that I will never get to see, but I'm curious.

Re: Enigine swapin questions

Well your only one year and one model away from having an LS1 anyway. But it won't be to hard. What I would suggest is that since you have to remove and install the engine from the bottom anyway, just use the K member from the donor car, make it a lot more simpler. Just make sure that if you do get an LS1 you get it with all the exseseries(sp), harness and computer. Then it's as simple as bolt it up, plug it in, and go. Well pretty much anyway. If you want spacific details shoot me a pm and I'll give you a step by step.

Re: Re: Enigine swapin questions

I think it will cost about $4000 to $5500 for a good LS1. It also depends if it comes with a auto or a 6spd. Price with a 6spd will be a little higher.

Look on ebay there is a seller by the name fparts they have all sorts of 4 gen fbody goodies.
