I have a '94 G20, and i am looking to get around 250 hp out of it when i am finished with mods. so far i have planned a SR20DET swap, y-piping (If i can find it), new headers, cams, a new intake manifold and an intercooler. by my calculations that should put me somewhere in my target area. anybody have other suggestions, especially for more low end kick? by the way, i"m trying to stay in the 5-6K range.:bandit:

Im assuming wheel hp, and not at the flywheel?
You should definitely talk to George, as he knows wayyyy more than i do about DETs, considering he has one in his G20 and depending on your sources for parts and such, you could be looking at more than your target price--so do research first.

If you do some research here and on the SE-R Mailing List archives, you should be able to learn a lot and plan better. You may have to upgrade a lot of things on the DET to get 250 whp. That's the bad news. The good news is then you will get about 300+ whp. The best you can generally expect w/o having to replace injectors, MAF, turbo, manifold, etc. is about 200-230 whp MAX.

but i think hes referring to headers, cept there are no headers on a turbo engine (exhaust manifold). like tri-Y headers (Hotshot) are 4-2-1, just my bet

I think he might be thinking about a Maxima, or V6, y-pipe which is the pipe that merges the two exhaust banks under the car. Well that's what came to mind when I first saw that.

It was my understanding that y-pipe could be fitted to a G20, maybe i am wrong. And does anyone know if the SR20DET comes with an intercooler, or would i need to get myself one?:bandit:

FWD SR20DET's do come with intercoolers but they are mounted on top of the engine. So if you want to use the stock intercooler your going to have to make a hood scoop. I highly sugest you just sell off the top mount and get a front mount intercooler. They dont make a intercooler kit for the P10 yet but you can just get one from the hot shot intercooler and have a shop make you custom intercooler piping.
