94 bonnivle clicking sound on start up and gas in exust

when i start up my car i had to replace the harmonic blanecer and thought that would slove all the problems but it stats up and the engine rattles and we changed a wire on the spark plug and that didnt slove it so we went to go get a tester and one of the clis is bad so we may need to repalce that to slove the problem but we havent dont it yet so the main problem is that the exaust is having a gasy smell and the engine it loud and varbrates and the engine has a clicking noise inside so if anyone can give me advice that would be asome and if you can just send the answers to [email protected]

thank you
