stock vs. stock a vr-4 should take it in th 1/4 mile, in the 1/8, its a driver's race. This is if we are speaking of EVO 8, the 7s and previous dont stand too much of a chance. I would expect an EVO 8 to pull a VR-4 off the line but not by a whole lot. The short gears help the EVO 8 pull hard through around 90-100 mph, but i know the VR-4 will walk an EVO up top because of the gearing and horsepower. Now, if i'm not mistaken, an EVO 8 is cheaper to upgrade, you have to remember, they come stock with a td05 big 16g which is nothing to sneeze at, they can get about 350 to the wheels with just some basic mods, ECU upgrades, and tuning, but you have to remember, they also come stock with fuel mods that will allow them to boost high, and a big 16g can hold down some serious boost.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: evo vs. 3000gt

Stock for stock I think the evo wins. Unless there is a talon tsi awd in the race...!

No, the evo 8 has some serious power...Buschur racing's evo has run 11.65 on the stock turbo. Now that is some serious potential direct from the factory!

Re: evo vs. 3000gt

i'll put money on the evo. During the Nopi Race Wars, i was up agiasnt this evo 8. Guy told me he bought it bout 2 months before, well i ran my best time of the night during this race a respectable 13.88, well the evo blew me out of the whole and kept the distance but didnt gain he ran a 13.33, so i'll put my money on the evo anydayd stock for stock

Re: evo vs. 3000gt

well most people in there evo-8's are running 13.5, about the same time as us. so the answer, straightline speed no there not faster, we'll be at 165mph while there at 135mph, and we'd kill them from a 60 roll. and were about even in the 1320(they may be a little faster). track speed, huh, we don't stand a chance.

Re: evo vs. 3000gt

The Evo will hit 60 faster, and will run the 1/4 mile faster. The Evo can do 60 in a high 4 and the 1/4 mile in a low 13. The Evo will kill the 3000GT on a track (with the curves and turns). But I dont know about top speed because the Evo has very close ratio transmissan.

Re: evo vs. 3000gt

evo is redline limited to only 150MPH, maybe in the near future we might see a six speed but that's just hoping
