92 APV 3.1 - fan short

The fan on my APV seems to have a short. After engine runs, fan sometimes shuts off. When I jostle the wires connected to the fan it kicks on fine.

Wires look good, thought it may be bad connection at point where fan wires connect to the bundle of wires connections.

Is this an easy fix?

Also, now the hood wont lock shut, even with rease cable engaged. Security latch catches, hood just wont go done all the way. Any ideas with this?

Thanks,

The fan on my car shorted right next to the fan connector a while back and it blew the fusible link. It soudns like the problem is the connection on the fan. Pull out the connector and make sure the connections are tight and there isnt any corrosion.

And for the hood not closing all the way, it sounds like the latch is stuck open. Try spraying some Wd40 or PB penetrating catalyst on it and see if you can pry it back out. Once you get it unstuck, clean it off, and spray some white lithium grease on it. Unlike WD40, the lithium grease wont dry up later on.
