hey i got a '91 mercury tracer. howre the 92s?
you need a manual to your car. go pick one up, they're really helpful. they should have a diagram of all your electric circuits in your car. this should really help, since it shows where all the wires go. good luck. thats how i put my cd player in. |

got the manual
Yeah, I got the manual, but it says nothing about the stereo wiring. The problem is there's so much wiring in the car, it can't cover all of it, and apparently the stereo isn't important enough.
Anyway, weird getting a response after 3 months! lol, but the question is still out, I've been delivering pizzas for months without a stereo in my car, I guess I'm just too cheap to pay someone to do it for me. |

Hello! I think I may be able to help. I completely redid my car stereo in my 92 tracer cause I could'nt stand the poor excuse of a radio the factory put in. With my multi-meter I was able to designate what each wire is for, to all four speakers and the power supply. Soo if you want my help I would be more than happy to help you.
I also changed out all four interior speakers front to back with 4.25" 2-way Audiobahn's and they sound great!! Due to the small size of a speaker it lacked low frequencies. So I also added a single 12" audiobahn sub in the trunk powered with a MTX 4250 D (mono) amp. I definitly went all out but am proud to say I did all the work myself and with some ebay skills saved a TON of money. All together wiring kit and all I spent $400 for everything- $200 for speakers, sub, and amp + $200 for the eclipse head unit. Anyways enough bragging. It pays to do it yourself!!!
