a few general problemos with my 1g

hey i just got a 92 laser about a week ago for 950 bucks, and its a 1.8 liter (yes i know not by choice, but this is just temporary) 5 spd. its got like a 138,000 miles. i bought it cuz a guy i know hit the car i had and bought it, so i had to hurry and buy a car, so this is a shitty one but its only temporary til i get something else. anyways the engine runs pretty good, brakes work good, but its got a few problems. when i reverse and then put in the clutch it to go to 1st, it will die and that one light that looks like a house will come on. even when i am holdin the clutch i have to give it little gas so it doesnt die.

also lots of things under the car like to squeak, whenever i am driving u hear the nastiest sort of sounds from all over the underside, its pretty funny cause EVERYBODY stares when u drive by. Anyway, the car was sitting for 6 months before I got it so who knows what kind of corrosion is going on down there, what would u guys say i should do to get rid of that noise? Just attack it with some WD-40? Or will i have to replace some parts or what? thanks for all the help
