Eclipse GST by Revell, Progress thread with pics

I just picked this up today, all i can say about this kit is that it is just beautiful, and wonderful on details

My camera needs some batterys but when ever i get more i will get a lot better pics of the progress.

So far all ive done is paint the body, using Plastikote Jade Green Metallic
Sorry that the pics suck, but ill get a lot more soon

that last pic is pretty damn blurry, but i think it looks agressive

in the pics the paint looks flat and almost black, but its not, its green, and very shiny, with out clear coat, so when i can get some day time pics, watch out.

i have no plans to mod this car from any thing that isnt in the kit

any questions, comments, suggestions welcomed

Re: Eclipse GST by Revell, Progress thread with pics

Paint looks good. i bought one a week ago, but i still have 3 kits to finish until i can even think about starting it...

One advice though: You really should have cut out the grills on the front bumper. its an easy mod and it looks so better ! i did it on my Revell Focus and the difference is really noticeable. What was Revell's dudes thinking ? we dont want plastic grills anymore in 2004 !

i was thinking it was a GSX considering it does have a drive shaft and shit for the rear wheels, but i didnt know what to type, so GST is easier to type

THe only way i can cut out grills, or plastic at all is heating up a knife and slicing through it, and that is not that good cuz one slip can cut that cars front bumber in half, so im gonna do some super duper taping off and paint those areas silver.

The blitz kit would look killer on it, are you trying to make it like the one on the side of the box? If you are nice choice I love that car.

Actually in the end it will probably look a lot like the one on the side of the box, except ill be using the CF decal for the hood, and i wont have the metal wing/blitz kit.
But i had that green siting around for a few weeks now and decided it would look very nice on this car

THe tail lights have built in circles in them that u can make them into Supra Taillights, or you can just make them clear headlights

There is also an Eclipse Deacal that u can put on the lights if ud like, but i dont plan on that, the only decal i plan on using is the one that says GST

Well for my Focus i simply ran an x-acto around the grill to get them out, but i left a little bit of grill all around, so mistakes wouldn't be a problem. then i sanded what was left all around.

btw the grills are a lot more thin than it looks and its really easy to cut
