could this be the problem? (clutch issue)
ok, I was driving around today and got a call from my friend saying his clutch isnt working, I asked him to look at the arm under the hood whil;e someone pushes in the clutch and he said that it did move, so I figured it must be something with the actual clutch itself. so I had him bring the car over, I just swapped my ZC for my B20 so I had that engine sitting around, I told him I wouldn sell it to him, so he gave me 50 bucks for the clutch and install(I dont really like charging friends much to work on thier car) I got the engine/trans out and pulled off the tranny, pressure plate fingers looked perfect so I started to get a little frustrated over the work I probably just didnt need to do(was hoping a spring popped out) then took off the presure plate and inspected it and the disc and both were perfect. then I looked at the throw out fork, was fine, TO bearing although I dint know how would be the cause, was fine when I checked it. I held one end if the clutch cable and the outer housing and had him push the clutch, I couldnt hold the cable so I know the clutch pedal is pulling it. went into the car and found that one one side of where the pedal pivots is busted, I am figuring that it is that the pedal piviting on one side is weaker than the pressure plate so that when you press the clutch, the pedals mount just flexes and gives instead of pushing the plate fingers. I quit after I found that out, but I think tomorrow I will try to reach the cable to the tranny on the ground and check if that is the problem. I think it is but replies dont come instantly hereso I want to get ideas of what it could be ASAP, which is why Im asking befoe I even run more tests on it.
thanks
