I've put in new struts, changed the bushings in the sway bar, changed the bushings in the lower control arms, put in new tie rod ends, and I still have a clunk. Mechanic seems to think it might be the bearing plate in the right hand strut. Any comments on this? I'm running out of money. Also, as I'm going to tow this unit, I'd like info on the issue of the wheels turning the wrong way and sticking when turning through a dip. I just got the hitch on today, and towed it around the yard with my pick up. Wheels caught several times through dips and in the gravel turning. Anyone have experience with this? I imagine that it won't be as big a problem when I'm on solid pavement, but I sure don't like the idea of going on any gravel after my experiment. Sure appreciate any comments. Thanks.

Re: Clunk in Front End and Towing the Caravan
change both front hub assemblies. Unless it's the transmission, that should take care of you. The hubs cost ~$100.00 each (carquest) and with a few tools and one large socket you can change both yourself in about two hours.

Re: Clunk in Front End and Towing the Caravan
Why would you think it's the hubs? The mechanic put an electronic stethescope on the strut and seemed to think it's coming from there. It doesn't sound like the hubs to me, and we had them both off checking out the brakes and putting on ball joints, so we probably would have noticed something wrong.
