replace tie rods?
I was told from an allignment shop that i needed to replace my inner tie rod ends. I don't realy trust the guy too much and would like to know how to find out how to determine if i should replace the (inner or outer) tie rod (ends). (someone asks this question not long ago and no one answered so i thought i would give it a try because I had the same question.)

Re: replace tie rods?
I work at an alignment shop. For one thing, I hate it when people don't trust me, because I even explain it to them. Have a little faith. Here is how you can check it with out a alg. rack. Jack up the front of the car by the CONTROL ARMS. You must jack it so the suspension is not hanging. Not on the frame or body, jack by the actual control arm of the vehical. Grab the tire and shake it from side to side. IF you feel any play at all when you shake then it is either the inner or outer tie rods. I see alot of outer tie rods on 97 and newer grandprix's go bad. Even with low miles. Hope this helps. Or you could just take it and get a second opinion.
