screaming rear end
my 95 4wd 4.0L's rear end screams and whines when its on the road and accelorating it quiets down around 70 mph and when i let of the gas.... i've checked the fluid level and it seems fine. it says to use limited slip type fluid only but i have never seen the benifits of a limited slip off-road ( my rear right tire constantly digs unwanted holes while the left sits motionless) if anybody has any ideas it would be apreciated!

Re: screaming rear end
I had the same problem, and turned out to be my right rear axle bearing. I waited to long and the bearing being damaged messed up the smooth surface that the bearing rides in. Have the rear bearings checked and/or replace or repack them with grease and see if that helps. Also check to see when the last time the differential fluid was changed - it may be getting old and breaking down.

Re: screaming rear end
It is possible that a wheel bearing is the cause.
It could also be the differential bearings. The mostlikely are the pinion bearings. you have to remove the axles to dissassemble the diff anyway so you will know the wheel bearing condition before you get too deep into it. also check the back ujoint. if they are dry, sometimes they will make noises.
