Why are the drag racing events over 2 days

How come that drag racing events are over 2 days? My problem is that I can't race on Saturdays during the day, only at night. And I can race on Sundays. Can I just go for the second day, or how does it work out?

Re: Why are the drag racing events over 2 days

Some places have 2 seperate races and do one the first day and the other the second day, it may be possible that the winners of each race go head to head for more $$$$$

Generally yes but it would be a good idea to contact the track and make sure before you make the trip.

Often it is just the sheer number of entries. Impossible to run time trials and eliminations in one day. They also have to plan for and oil down or 2.

So what you're saying is first day is time trials and eliminations, and second is the finals? So in that case I can't just go to the second day

Re: Why are the drag racing events over 2 days

Are you just looking to run your car or enter a competition/event?

Most tracks have one-day races called "grudge racing" or "time trials." They are open to anyone and it is basically just open track time.

Most actual events are run over 2 days because the first day is qualifying and the second day is the actual race. They typically give competitors 2-3 hours between rounds to work on their cars.
So with 3 qualifying rounds, that eats up Saturday.
With 3 or 4 rounds of qualifying that finishes up Sunday.

There are occassionaly 1-day events.
I have 6 drag racing events on my schedule this year and only one of them is for 1 day.

Your basic weekly bracket race is just a one day event. Some tracks might have a test and tune on Friday evening and Saturday or Sunday is the race.
