Labor prices for gauge install in CA..help

I have a

1)boost gauge
2)air/fuel gauge
3)oil temp gauge,

all with all necessary wiring and instructions, brand new.

I also have an A-pillar triple pod from LoTek. And a GReddy T-Timer with harness and everything.

A 'performance' shop here in San Jose CA gave me a $450 quote for labor in installing all the above . Please tell me that I am getting ripped off...? I mean, $450...I dont want to touch electrical stuff so please don't tell me to try this myself. Any comments? How much should it actually cost?

Re: Labor prices for gauge install in CA..help

Seems a little steep to me. But then I am going to tell you to do it yourself For the TT you have a harness so all you have to do is take one harness apart and plug the TT harness in the middle. Nothing electrical really. And the hardest part for that is probally getting the panels off to get to the harness.

For the boost gauge it is pretty simple also there are write ups that you can follow step by step. There is also a write up for the air/fuel gauge installation. And I am sure there is one for the oil temp install somewhere.

Of course if you really dont want to touch anything just ignore what I said I would just save that $450 and use it somewhere else more wisely.

Re: Labor prices for gauge install in CA..help

ahahaha. OKAY, this is turning into the Jerry Springer show lol. anyways, my prehistoric mechanic kept my ride for a week and only installed the GReddy UICP and LICP with a GReddy BOV. A whole week. the nutter. That reminds me, I cant install the JoePMBC until I get the darn boost gauge hooked up. shize.

Re: Labor prices for gauge install in CA..help

Yea, definitely don't put the mbc on until you get a boost gauge and see what kind of boost you're running.

That should also help with the boost gauge install...I'll pm you a few more tips and pics tomorrow.
