Terminator and the matrix?

Heh, any one else think that the terminators story sort of follows the matrix? Basically you have the terminator, where machines begin to take over the world in t3, then it evolves about 1000 years and you have the matrix, machines rule the world and a small faction of human resistance... i dunno just a though. I kinda feel their storys tie togather in some way...
