Re: Subs in the back cargo

Q-logic has sub enclosures for the barn doors...about $100 each...

not a good idea

I wrote not a good idea for a simple reason. I drive a 03 cav. and iam a music freak. I have 4x6 pioneer 4 ways in the front, 6x9 pioneer 4 ways in the back. an pioneer 50x4 with three AV output deck with a 1000 watt kenwood amp powering 2 12 inch rockford's HE2. so i know what i am talking about here. the problem with putting your subs in that location is the size you have. It may fit but subs need enough space in an enclosed area to sound the best they can. With that area 1. i would be very hard to seal it all off and 2. its not a big enough box to power them. I just recombed getting two bandbass boxes and put a sub on each side right behind the passanger seat.

I have an '03 tahoe and I removed the panels (being curious) and I don't think that there is enough space for another sub there. The rear a/c unit is in there. If you like pop it open and see for yourself. It is very simple and it all pops off (no screws)

dom- i think they are refering to a older model,

as for the space a 10" fits in there, the qform device give the space walls and defined volume like a baffle so you dont have as many noise problems, either with the kit or without, getting the correct speakers is very important ones that can handle the space restraints, some speakers are made for open air mounts I not sure if any subs are made the same maybe some 8 inchers, ive seen quite a few installs in the barn doors of burb and tahoes, it looks really clean and sounds alright for a no footprint system.
