'91 Dodge Monaco - Stuck trunk

'91 Dodge Monaco, no problem with trunk until after recent trip to Midas for new muffler. Key turns, lock seems to "bulge out" slightly when turning key (goes back to normal though when you release key), but trunk does not unlatch to open. Any ideas as to how to fix or to get in??

Something is stuck in the latch.

other than forcing it, there's not a lot you can do except breaking it!

take the back seat out and look to see what's caught, or get someone small enough to crawl back there and unbolt the latch or pin.
