Ok I just got my truck out Friday drove only 50 so miles coming home today I get the check engine light on. It reads P0420 which according to someone web page they had it says "catalist system efficancy below thershold (bank 1). Ok next question will this still be ok to drive home I am 120 miles away and have to work tomorrow morning. Any help would be gravely apprecatited. Thanks Mindy

Re: I am getting tired of this already
I don't want to scare you or anything, but i would be worried. The catalyst is the thing inside the catalytic converter, and if the system says that it's not working correctly, that must mean it's either plugging or it's not there anymore. By saying not there I mean it broke and got thrown out the tailpipe, which would be bad for emissions but the truck would still be driveable. If it's plugging, I bet the truck won't be running for very much longer, and you'll probably end up stranded somewhere.
You better get that problem figured out as soon as you can, or you'll be walking...

Re: I am getting tired of this already
If you just got your truck out of service, they might have left your post-cat O2 unplugged, or something else is left unplugged.
However, if it is something going wrong, then Bleed's right. Go back to the shop. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.00. If, on your next turn, you roll doubles, you may leave the shop, or pay $50.00 and take your next turn.
