I have a 01 Tahoe LS. I saw a tread that is almost like my problem, but not exactly.
At idle w/o my AC on is about 300rpm - 500rmp and just wants to die. I even have problems of it dieing when I turn (especially if the AC is on). the answer for that thead was to spray carb. cleaner in the butterfly valve to get the carbon build up off. I will try this, but if it doesn't work what else could it possibly be?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks - bryan |

Re: idle is very low 300rpm - 500rpm
My 01 Tahoe has done that to me whenever I have run lower grade fuel in it. I always try to use at least 91 oct. in it. Cleaning the butterfly should clear it up some too. Have you ever replaced the air filter in it? When I put a K/N on mine I noticed a big difference.

Re: Re: idle is very low 300rpm - 500rpm
I changed the air filter when i bought it (used), but I've always had a problem with it. Maybe it needs a different one.
I've put octane booster in it a few times and noticed no difference. I've seen sharper bowling balls then me... but what is a K/N? I'm sure it stands for something soooo complex that my little brain can't process it. thanks for your help bk |

Re: idle is very low 300rpm - 500rpm
K& N Air Filter. They are good for airflow but don't block the dirt until they are dirty. I would go with a foam one from Amsoil or another company. Don't get me wrong, K&N's are great for what they were designed for. The Race Track, otherwise I wouldn't run one. This comes fromm somebody who use to exclusively run K&N.
