92' Lesabre slow accel in drive..

I have a 92' Lesabre that has no acceleration in drive, it was sparratic but has gotten increasingly worse lately.

The engine light comes on when this happens.

Basically what happens is the engine runs rough, you put the car in drive .. the engine revs up but you hardly move... If you put the car in 1st or 2nd it will roll fine then putting it back in drive around 30-35 and all is fine.

I think its a sensor/electrical as the engine light comes on when this happens and the engine runs rougher.. not to mention its sparratic and runs fine when its not happening...however its almost all the time now.

I have had the tranny fluid and filter changed out several times and everything has looked clean.

Any ideas on what to look for or to change out?

Re: 92' Lesabre slow accel in drive..

There is a switch. It is the park/neutral switch. Might have something to do with it. Try this. When you start, put it directly into 1st, and before you move, put it into overdrive. see if that works. At any rate, seems like an electronic problem.
