1997 Silverado startup problem
Hi,
My 1997 Silverado (1/2 ton 350) usually starts on the 1st turn of the key, but now it takes 4 or 5 times turning the key to get it to start and when it does start it runs a little rough for a few seconds, then cleans out and idles/runs fine. The battery is ok and I just replaced the fuel filter hoping to correct this, but it still continues. Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, gvw |

Most likely it's your fuel pressure regulator. You can check by simply pulling the vacuum line on the FPR and if gas comes out, you've found the problem. Just had it happen to mine. Good luck!!
