I suppose common cars such as the Camry are easy sell on - in parts or the whole car.

Maybe they don't have as good sercurity as a Lexus or BMW.

They've also made millions of Camrys

Say 10,000 1995 Camrys are stolen in a year. Say they made 100,000 1995 Camrys. 10,000 were stolen, 10%.

Say 100 1995 Diablos are stolen in a year. Say they made 500 1995 Diablos. 100 were stolen, 20%.

Compared to the amount made, I'm sure exotics or luxury cars have the highest percentage of steal rate. However, due to the sheer amount of Camry's on the road, it can be the most stolen car and still have a smaller percentage stolen.

Make sense?

a couple days ago they released the top 10 stolen cars in Oregon.

I'm not sure what tehy all were but the top 3 or 4 were camarys

#10 was a 1999 Civic Si
and 3 Suvs and 2 trucks (ford and chevy)

Yea I'm in Oregon, so we tend to have more SUVS and Trucks then small cars. All the soccer moms are afraid of rain or something. I think we're one of teh only familys areound here that doesn't have a SUV, we have a 81 Volvo GLT Turbo, 2000 Ford Focus, 1978 Dodge Tradesman Custom Cargo Van, and my 1987 Honda Civic DX Hatch (for sale).

As stated before, the reason that BMW and other such makes are up there is because f there rarity and security. They have, I'm pretty sure tracking devices in the trunk so that they know where the car is at all times. Also with Lamborghini, I'm sure there hasn't been more than 2 stolen because unless there in a dealership, people hardly drive them, If you don't drive your car, it can't get stolen. If that does happen though, its by pros like in GI60S and then shipped off to Africa or southern Asian countries where there are different laws and nobody's lookin for a Yellow 1995 Diablo.

Just because it's not on the list, doesn't mean it's not what some folks are looking to steal. And it's just for parts, if there's thousands and thousands of camrys on the road, eventaully they are gonna need parts, and then you can just get rid of the car, no car, no evidence, and who's gonna buy a Diablo from a guy in an alley or at a junkyard?

LOL!! Accords, Cammrys, Civics oh my! Now why the hell would you steal these cars instead of a nice Benz? I'm sure there are plenty of Benzes out there and the cops whouldn't be on to you either.

i think that more people need parts to those cars and that's why they are stolen more.

Wonder why there are so many Honda's on this list? becasue they are cheap cars, that are easy to break into, and when you want to steal a car 5 out of ten will be either a Honda, or some other Japanese base model car, they are like a plague they are everywhere!
Peace....
