airbags can I do it?????

Hey I have a 96 prelude that I am rebuilding. The airbags were poped out now I took the old ones out and I bought a new set can I install them myself.. I know where everything goes and everything I am just wondering what are the procedures that I have to take when I actually hook up the wiring. I dont want to blow them (it would mean a new windshield again). Do you all have any tips or should I just pay the money and get a profesionall to do it.. I think I could hook them I am just afraid of them popping...

I would pay. Given the amount of force that the airbags come out at, you could get seriously hurt it they go off while you are installing them.

disconnect the battery, and ain't nothing gonna happen. also, just in case you didn't know already, you'll need to replace the airbag module as well, or else the bags won't work. and a lot of times, the wiring gets fried (and you has to replace it all, or they'll never work, and the airbag light will never go off) when the bags go off. blown bags=pain in the ass and lots of $. if you have the knowledge, do it you're self. you'll save a lot of money. money that can be spent on more fun things than air bags.

p.s. if it was me... id put the bags in, and not hook them up. pull the bulb in the cluster, and buy a nice set of rims. seatbelts do most the work anyhow.
