Question shift kit? educate me please!

whats up people...alright...i've been looking through some posts about automatic cars...(integra)...i've read much about putting a SHIFT KIT to get the gears to shift faster and harder for an automatic.

SHIFT KIT? EDUCATE ME PLEASE! Let me know whats up with shift kits...how it works...and all others that deal with installing a SHIFT KIT ( like how much improvement should i expect by installing it )

ANY INFO REGARDING SHIFT KITS IS APPRECIATED. THANKS!

o by the way...i'm gonna be planning to put it on my 93 integra ls vtec auto.

Why not put in a manual. Then you can feel the gears, and have a much more visceral driving experience. Not to mention have more control over gear ratios, clutch types, flywheels, etc.

Re: shift kit? educate me please!

Putting in a manual is too costly and time consuming. It would be much easier to buy another teg thats already manual. I'm also curious about shift kits so anyone who knows about them please post. Thanks

Re: shift kit? educate me please!

first off jaedreamah please explain what you mean by a shift kit because your questions seem a bit vauge...are you talking about a kit that allows your car to go from auto to manual or are you talking a bout a quick throw shifter as seen in some maunal cars

Re: shift kit? educate me please!

umm...from what i've read in an old post on this forum...a SHIFT KIT installed in your automatic...integra...civic...ect. is supposed to make your tranny shift a lot faster and harder...supposedly it keeps your gears a lot closer to each other?
i don't know...well basicly i think it's supposed to strenghten your auto tranny and give it faster and harder shifts.

here...check this out

Well..of what i know there are valve body upgrades for the auto trannys...they will make the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts faster nd harder,1st to sec will even make tires chirp. I know they have them for the nissans such as maximas but im also sure they have it for other cars. I have also heard of the shift kits where it adds a 5th gear to the 4 speed auto trannys but thats as much as i know about this.
