stolen

thought id start an intrestin thread. How many ppl here had their car broken into or stolen?

I had mine broken into 3 times...i went away to iraq so i left the car with my dad, while at his house the first time they flexed the door and stole my tach, the secound time they broke my window and stole my radio-and it was factory tape deck for a 90 civic-i returned home from over seas {thinkin how much this country shows appreation for soldiers in iraq} and put in a new window and a buddy gave me a cd player to put in and some 6x9's to put behind the seats and the third time they used a slim jim on the drivers door and stole my cds and speakers least is still have the head unit i only had the stuff for 3 days.....

Re: stolen

we dont really have problems with people breaking into cars and stuff much around here, unless you leave your doors unlocked, but i go to walmart and everywhere and leave my windows down and have never had a problem.

Mine's been broken into about 7 or 8 times... I've completely lost track.

Last time someone broke into it, they tried to steal it, but they're idiots and couldn't even figure out how to pull my stereo either. But they did a good job of fucking up my ignition lock and the stereo too.

Re: stolen

I park my car in the garage...never been touched once. My dads Explorer is outside everynight and hasn't been touched once. Not even egged or anything. Our neighborhood is pretty safe and not too much vandalism goes on.

Where i live, we don't really have many problems with stolen vehicles. The most serious thing that would happen is someone putting shaving cream under the door handles lol. But this place is getting bigger by the day, 3rd largest growing city in the country or something (ocala, FL), so i might hafta be more careful nowadayz.

Re: stolen

i'm tryin' to make it so no one could steal my car. When i go somewhere questionable where i feel someone might break into my car, i unplug my ecu and put it under the passenger seat or bring it with me. You can also unplug ur main relay or something that if you unplug they cant start the car. theyll never no why it doesn't start. The easiest thing to do is to take the little 10A fuse for the starter under the dash. If they manage to break into ur car and try to start it...they'll never succeed.

I've never had my car broken into... but I'm paranoid as hell about it! Especially since I usually have several thousand dollars worth of car audio equipment installed at any given time, and I'm known around town as having one of the best sound systems in town.

A friend of mine just had his broken into... they stole his sub, amp, cd player... and then for some reason, they slashed his seats and broke out all his windows.

I think when I get close to finishing off my car and get it back on the road on a regular basis, I'm going to be investing in these.

Re: stolen

Can't you also install a switch somewhere hidden that you have to flip before you can start the car. I need to get a new alarm also...mine is 14 years old and doesnt work that great and the remote just broke a month or so ago.

Re: stolen

Mine was stolen right outside my apartment window, heard the peel out but it was too late. They took my stereo with the center console, cd's sweatshirt and my battery, luckily that was it. Took a month to get it all back, but a week before I got it I broke my leg in 7 places and couldn't even drive for another month. Luckily it was still bone stock.

Re: stolen

i used to leave my doors unlock...so if someone wanted to break into it...they'd just open the door and not break anything...but whenever i get another civic and start investing into it....lo-jack will also be one of my investments

Re: stolen

Around here, you could leave your car running by itself in the middle of the street for 10 minutes strait and it would NOT be stolen.. Unbelieveable I tell you... :o
