2g problem

Man this is bad...i was driving down the acces road right. Then I see some puddle, not that deep maybe like 2-3 inches, so i slow down then the car just shuts off. Doesnt start again. I took off the cold air and opened the throttle body and noticed some water in it. I checked the oil and no signs of water. The spark plugs off, only the first one had a little bit of water. Towed the car to the mechanic, he said the starter was bad so I changed it. Then he took off the spark plugs and tried to turn it on. The engine rotated for like 2secs. then it made some weird noise. He turned it off and said its blocked and may be the something in the block thats bent. What should I do? Should I try to started again, its been sitting there for like a week, or pay 350 to get it open and cheked? Any suggestions?

Re: 2g problem

i would check it...blocked?? do you mean locked, like water locked? if that is the case then open it up. but eather way 350 is cheaper than a new motor if there is a problem.

Re: 2g problem

dont try to start it and dont open it up yet either... put a breaker bar on the timing gear and see if you can turn it over by hand... if you cant then drain the oil and pull the oil pan and check everything!!! if the pistons are hydrolocked to the block then most like you will need new pistons and have to get your block machined... probably cheaper to get a new motor!!! but before you do all that take automatic tranny fluid and dump 1/2 qt in each cylinder if they are hydrolocked and let it sit for a day and sometimes it is enough lube to soak into the rings and then loosen it and make it go back to normal... this happens a lot on our dirtbikes and it usually always works... i have had it happen on a V8 once too and it worked great so i would try that first before you go spend a couple grand on a motor and labor to put it in!!!
