Question Stupid question time...

I have some used Tokico springs for any civic 92-00. My friend was wondering if they could work on his 01 Civic, are the suspension systems incredible different? Or would getting matching aftermarket Tokico shocks solve that problem?

They would be VERY different. For one both '92-'95 and '96-'00 Civics have stiffer springs in the FRONT than the rear. On the 7th gens ('01+) they have stiffer springs for the REAR due to the I'm guessing McPherson strut design of the suspension on them. This is why for the first year of them in '01, you'd see most lowered Civics sagging a lot in the back. They found that stiffer rears than fronts solved this issue.

Ah, so the springs will not seat correctly or at all? Or will they just sag in the rear due to the '01 suspension set up?

They won't fit or function correctly. Just look at the front spring on the '01 you will see it's a lot different.

Yeah, i guess since I haven't seen the '01 springs yet I can't get the whole picture. Thanks for your help, both of you.
