yeah u will have to ahve a new computer, wirin harness, everything, and why would u want to go to the 2.8 anyways, the 2.2 runs just as good, and easier on gas and if its an 86 motor i take it that it has a carb on it and not fuel injection

accually the 2.8 i'm getting has a holley throttle body, its bored 60 over, cammed, edlebrock headers, flowmaster exhaust from manifold back and the best part...only 3000 miles on it...plus my 2.2 doesn't feel like starting and its got almost 140k on it, plus one other thing do i have to change the engine mounts???

oh well sounds like u have one hell of a 2.8, in that case i would definately go for it....um yeah u will probably have to have new motor mounts, but they arent expensive, but u will have to have all new wiring harness and stuff, but thats about it, and i would check the transmission to see if the bellhousings are the same.....there might be some differences

the 2.8 is underpowered. I'd go with the 4.3. gas mileage is not as good but it has poweer and they last forever

Re: 95 s-10 2.2l to 2.8l swap

the 2.2 and 2.8 should fit the same bell housing, but you will need new mounts. Autozone has them for cheap or the boneyard is always my fav. for swaps. As for going with a 4.3, it would be WAY more work. if you do that, don't waste time with a 4.3 and get a small block. With the holley unit you may be able to just swich over part of the wiring, but get ready for suprises
