1994 Z24, need suggestions
Ok, here it is, I am new to the whole car scene, but I do have friends and family that can help me work on the car. I have all the tools and such I will need for any upgrades, but I'm not sure where to start.
Basically what I want to do is find an engine I can swap out with my stock 3.1L V6. I don't mind doing some fitting and such, but I need something that wont cause too much hell to put in. Are there any engines I can swap out with it, that can give me 250+ HP (either turbo or not) right away without too many mods? I love the style of the Z24, and I would like to put some money into the one I have. So any suggestions on where to go or what to put in it is greatly appreciated.. Thanks.. |

Re: 1994 Z24, need suggestions
u can put the engine of a buick regal GS (1999), which is a 3.8 liter series II 240-horsepower, supercharged V6. (O-60 mph in about 6.6 secs!) My friend swapped his stock for this one. He also got a 5-speed manual tranny getrac muncie from a 2000 cavalier (his is a 98), a custom aluminum flywheel (9.5lbs) and a custom Bully clutch package... IT RUNS GREAT!!
talking about the engine... he had to make a new sub-frame to hold everything in place. Lots of measurements!! The Battery had to be relocated to the trunk to make more room under the hood. A lot of work but it is worth it! My homie is pushing around 450-horsepower 'cuz on top of all this a N.O.S. wet nitrous system is being run with 150hp jets. So if u want power and u have somebody to work on your car, go with this engine!!! hope it helps...!! |

Re: 1994 Z24, need suggestions
awesome thanks for the info, ill look into it, I was also looking at the new GM production model. the 3800 Series III Supercharged Production Engine pumps out like 260 hp, but if i can get an older engine that puts out 240 thats plenty enough for me!
