flasher unit
i have a '96 jgc that needs a new flasher unit, which i have bought. i am having trouble finding where it goes though. from what i've read online, it goes somewhere on the steering column, but i'm not sure. if it does go on the steering column, how do i get the cover off? it looks like there are 3 torx bolts holding it on, but two are recessed so far that i can't get anything up there to make sure. any ideas?

Re: flasher unit
Hey!
Here is what I found to replace "turn signal switch" -remove tilt lever, if equipped -remove upper and lower steering column covers, then six screws holding knee bolster -remove steering column retaining nuts, then lower steering column to gain access to rear of multi-function switch -remove multi-function switch tamper proof mounting screws -carefully pull switch away from column, then loosen connector screw. Screw will remain in the connector. -remove wiring connector, then the MF switch -reverse procedure to install I hope this helps. Zabrina |

Hmm... I am looking into the tilt thing now... Now I am wondering if it's not the flasher you want to replace instead of the switch. If that is the case, the flasher is located behind the fuse panel. Email me if you want: [email protected]
