"Grinding Noise" from front
Hi guys & gals! Again i turn to the wise readers of this forum.
I recently noticed a noise from the front end of the car. To describe a noise its pretty hard but i would say its a louder "power steering" sound kind of a dry sound with a hint of Squeakiy rubber grinding noise Now evenryone knows exactly what i mean... right The noise occurs standing still or driving and ONLY when i turn Left when i turn right you would only have the normal power steering sound. It doesnt occur every time either, Only on some occasions sometimes just when i start up the car and hit the road it starts and sometime it can take 30 minutes of driving before it occurs and sometime it never occurs. I was told it could be Rack & Pinion Assembly but what i hear its not a fun afternoon job. If that is what you all belive is the problem could i get by with a 2000 mile trip before i start doing this repair or does it have to be ASAP done or car will die

Re:
Actually its not the steering, look at the tie-rods. Stock tie-rods are sealed and can sometimes dry out causing that noise. You can either replace them with an aftermarket version that has grease zircs or just get a grease needle (autozone for around $2.99 or so) and use that to load up the sealed bearing.

Re: Re:
Definitely go with the grease needle, worked great for mine. Also hit the ball joints while you're there.
