opinions on this motor set up for FI.

Since i am doing an engine swap since my ex motor blew how it did i dont know it only had 50k miles on and and a rod went threw the block. still clueless how that happened but any how i'm goign for just the dohc vtec motor hp/tq dont matter to me since i am having it custom build from importbuilders and a custom turbo kit on it. from importbuilders. Heres the set up i was thinkin about.

B16a2 jdm engine long block 900
itr tranny 1100
chipped b16 ecu 220

over all its gonna be like like 3k for the motor but i will have better parts the the orignal swap such as the 4.7 final drive lsd itr tranny, high hp motor mounts chipped ecu. I should probably go witht he gsr motor but hp/tq doestn matter to me i jsut want to run a turbo on a vtec dohc motor and make a lot of hp and tq. i know the gsr is 1.8 but i can bore the motor my self for 50 bucks i know a guy that will do it. good buddy of mine. i just wanted peoples opinion on that set up. thanks

or just buy the whole set up and add the final drive and lsd to the si tranny since the whol engine costs 2300.

haha. you think you're gonna get in IB block for 2300 including tranny and ecu? unless i'm blind or something i'm seeing the "killer block" for 2925. now add a tranny on that. maybe a b16a head. maybe and intake and exhaust manifold. maybe even a flywheel and a crank pulley. and i'm sure their turbo kits are around 4000.

if you have that sort of cash then by all means have a crated motor from IB. you'll have a killer setup that will even be too much for the street.

ok well if boosting you might as well go for a gsr motor, it will make more power when turboed and has slightly lower compression to allow more boost. also do not use an ITR tranny for a turbo motor. its gears are way way too short. also about boring the b16, thats cool, but remember that requires new pistons and you will spend more money doing that in the long run then just buying a complete gsr motor

Re: opinions on this motor set up for FI.

ok so no itr tranny but i was thinkin a gsr with upgrade lsd. ib doesnt make crate engines anymore, they need the block and head from the motor u ship them. pistons and internals didnt mater to me since they are all gettin redone i'm just lookin for a dohc vtec motor with out spending to much on the motor. upgrading it i dont care about money thats down the road and i wont be able to drive my car very much till the summer..

haha. that's cuz they probably figured that $13,000 for a motor needed some DEEP pockets!
