Angry STOP driving your cars!!!

Oh god I'm so sick of driving. I don't even want to go out anymore. I mean, I love my car, it is such a treat to drive... but everyone else just ruins it. It seems to get worse every day. Just today, perfectly clear day, sunny, hardly any clouds. Just cruising along down a 3 lane (per side) road and watching traffic (g/f was driving) and I see some old lady in the middle lane and an old guy in the right lane. Old lady, with no turn signal, no looking either direction or even glancing in a mirror... goes into the right lane, hits the guy, sways back into the middle like nothing happened and proceeds driving. The guy turned off after trying to get her attention for a while, and I hope he got her plates.

I seriously think, that once you hit, maybe 60, you should have to retake your road test every 5 years AT LEAST. Granted there will still be all the horrible drivers UNDER that age, at least it will help get rid of some bad ones. I mean, it IS a scientific fact that by that age, all your motor skills are well on their way down the gutter, but we just keep letting people go out and kill each other. A stricter road test to begin with would be a great idea to.

I really am considering being a cop, just so I can pull everyone over. I really hate other drivers, it'd be worth the gobs of paperwork to ruin their days.

5 years??

More like 5 months. Or at least twice a year imo.

My mom went from perfectly normal to incoherent due to Alzhiemer's in 10 mo's, in the middle of that she tried to drive. Bad deal.

At that age things change to fast.

You wont get any arguement from me. Everyone should be retested every time they come up for license renewal.

I dunno what terms your licenses last where you are at...but here in AZ...I last renewed my license in Aug of '94. It doesn't expire until 2034...when I turn 60 LOL. However I think I have to get the pic updated every 12 years...but I don' t have to take another test til it expires.

WOW!

Here we have to just pay $20 or so every 6(?) years. I think you used to have to retake the written test, but they might have dropped that.

Sorry to hear about your experiences with bad drivers, those young enough to still seem coherent in their driving skills, and those who seem too old to drive. I understand where you are coming from about wanting to be a cop to pull everyone over. There are just some assholes out there. But, there are also just some decent people who for one reason or another screw up. For example, I was doing 50 in a 35 yesterday because I was late for a lunch meeting. I spotted the cop when it was too late, but slowed down immediately (praying the whole time that he wouldn't pull out and pull me over)...and he didn't. Of course, on the other spectrum. The first and only accident I have ever been involved in occured when an elderly man plowed into us at an intersection. He claimed that he couldn't see our car behind the semi in front of us, a non-existant semi, and to top it all off, his son was a local cop. Grrr...

But, hey, at least you're okay. Perhaps still fuming, but we all have our good and bad days. We should just be thankful that we make it through each day alive.

On a small tangent...your screenname scares the crap out of me. But don't worry about me...I'm only Dante, the impressionable.

Hey everyone screws up... I'm more concerned with the deliberately disgusting driving tactics of some. I can't count how many times I was reaching for my cell phone ready to call in some guy riding my ass who nearly hits me. It's not pleasent.

PS - listen to more Zappa, the name will make sense. :-)

here's a good remedy for dumbass tailgaters that follow way too close...... my mom did this when we were driving and it actually works

first step is to make sure that your windshield washer fluid is always filled...then if you're driving on the street and a tailgater appears out of nowhere simply speed up a little bit while hitting the button for the windshield washer fluid to come out...the washer fluid will actually travel over your roof and hit the tailgater's windshield... they will have 2 turn their wipers on and they'll definately slow down...

One of these years I plan shaving off the hood squirters, but I wanna re-route the hoses for the washer fluid so that if people tailgate me I can just squirt water all over them hehee..or re-route them to an area near the headlites so that I can squirt people who cut me off. OF course the container would have water in it, not washer fluid.

A rear mounted washer filled with brake fluid fixes tailgaters

Damn right it is! Back in my high-school days, we used coca-cola to un-seize a 454ci and a 350ci car engine.

The scary part is that it actually worked. Now think about the fact that you drink this stuff all the time

I Apologize for the off-topicness of my reply.
