Buying(?) a friends 200sx se-r
ok. my 240sx crapped out on me for the last time. i'm not sure after i fix it if i wanna sell it so tomorrow morning i may be buying a friends 1995 200sx se-r. it's a very reliable car with 152,000 miles on it. at most it could stand a trip to a body shop to have the clear coat redone. i'm giving him $1800 for it it runs great but i'm worried about those miles. i've know him for as long as he's had the car and he's the only owner, its never broke down. it's always been well maintained.
Should i or shouldn't i be worried about those miles. |

Re: Buying(?) a friends 200sx se-r
its an ok deal but it depends on how it was driven
sr20de's can clock over 250k of HARD driven miles if theyre taken care of but the tranny isnt close to as sturdy as the engine. if its an automatic i would be very skeptical of buying it since autos are harder to fix if they break but if its a manual, drive it hard a couple of times and see if 3rd or 5th gear pop out. those are usually the first ones to go in that transmission. other than that its a great car. i had a 99 sentra SE and i beat the shit out of it and it never gave me any problems. i even put on over 60k in the year and a half that i had it.
