Re: worth the money?

I love both the 240 SX's and the RX-7's, owned both...Although I have no experence with the sr20det? I hear its quite fast...The 240's are just drop dead reliable and can take TONS of miles on stock engines...
I have really enjoyed both the Turbo & na RX-7's too...
Test drive them both & see what fits your tastes...Good luck/skill!

Re: worth the money?

I got around 230-250 HP from my 87 RX-7 T2 with a DP, TID & intake, removing the smog pump & free flowing exhaust...Thats on the stock turbo...Keep in mind my mods didn't cost more then $350...
Thats about as much as you want on a stock T2 fuel system & stock Turbo...
Stock is about 182 HP...

Re: worth the money?

i dont think it really matters for the rx-7, even if it doesnt have that much power it could still beat other cars with a lot of power. I know and ive seen it, my cousin has an awesome 2nd gen rx-7 that was NA and it kicked but, now he turbocharged it. However, he did have a lot of problems. U would have to know a lot about the rotary engine. If u have only $4k, then buy a cheap 240 with decent body and interior, and buy the engine for about $1200, or the whole clip for about $2300.

Re: worth the money?

hah, 240sx w/ a preinstalled sr20? for 4k? yeah right. non seller in their right mind is gonna give that away for 4k.

times have changed man, 240sx's are more expensive. i had a basically totalled 240 that i sold for 750. 4k will probably buy you a good condition stock 240sx. beyond that, nothing else. unless you're extremely lucky.

sorry but the tranny wont go for 500

maybe 350

or 300

Seriously

the body i bought was 500 too

a front clip is 2300-2600

and install depending on the guy

about 1500?

there u go

4 grand right???

so easy so cheap

if ur just looking for a moderately fast car
and a daily driver
get the sr20

if ur just gonna cheese off
and take it to the strip every chance u get
than get the rx7]

my opinion

An HKS single would demolish a T2 Rotary with 89,000 miles. Buying anything rotary powered for cheap is usually pretty risky. in terms of power I have a friend that has an FC with a T62 Turbo (among other things) thats putting 325 to the wheels. but from what ive heard has still been owned by SR20s with Bolt ons (Intake/Exhaust/DP/IC)

2.0L inline making 202HP > 2.6L Rotary making 205HP

Im all about HP/Liter... do whatever you want but i cast my vote for the 240 with SR or CA

It's not 2.6 liter, it's 1.3.
