Re: Begginer Sub/amp ?
Are you willing to build your own box (if we give you a design) and wire it up yourself (if we give you schematics and instructions)?
If not, then you won't even be able to get a box and install for $250, much less a sub, amp, box, and install

well do you already have a head unit? or no head unit? well anyways.. a amp that would be good for your price range would the the pioneer class D, go on ebay and put "pioneer class d" its a pretty cheap amp for 500rms, not many people think its good.. but for the price its great (about $170 or so) or the hifonics bx500d.. which is also pretty good.. then you can get a kicker comp vr 12/15 or a kicker L5.. not the best sounding, but it gets loud enough for "more bass" the cvr 12 cost $80 the cvr 15 cost $110, the l5 should cost just a little more, and just get a prefab sealed or ported bost for anywhere between $25-50, remember sr20 he doesn't know much about car audio.. so he doesn't need anything tuned, or special boxes or anything.. the kicker subs will sound great... pretty loud.. you also need a low frequency loc, or line output converter if you dont have a head unit
.. soo... $160 amp $80 sub $30 box $25 wires fuses etc $20 LOC ok ok more than i expected.. sorry heh but yea i dont know how much cheaper u can go.. maybe if you go for like cheaper models or something sorry guy |

I have no problem with building a box and such, but here is my situation: I bought the car and the previous owner told me the sub and amp was stolen the previous month. So.. i have the head unit and all the wires are still hooked up to that and lead to the back of the car. So all i would need would be from the amp up. Thanx
