Post Explaining my self

Yes, that's right! I got some comments via reputation button like 'award for dummest question of the week' or 'you ask to much. Try the stuff your self'. I would like to reply these people.

Those of you who regularly accompany my posts know that I live in Slovenia, where we only have enamels from Revell and some (not all) Testors enamel paints. For things like good clear glue, acrylic paint, masking tapes, Tamiya or Monogram scale models and a lot of other things like photo-etched parts, body kits, BMF or rims, we have to order them through the web and from foreign countries like USA, UK, Japan, etc.
For me it's a lot easier and WAY cheaper to ask you here on the AF which glue, paint or primer is the best. I have never seen in my life how Micro Sol or Set looks like, in fact I have never saw any of Microscale products. The same thing goes with the BMF. Slovenia is just too small for big dealers to come here.
Let's take a look on clear glue which I ordered from Netherland. Glue price was $6 and the postage was anoter $12. So for one glue I had to spit $18. Now, if I would ordered the wrong one I would have to make another order which would cost me at least another $15.
Another example with Revell-Monogram kits; To get ONE (1) kit I have to pay $22,8 plus postage which is about $12-15. If these orders would go to USA, then on the whole price (the kit + postage) would be added tax. And the price goes up for about 35%. $22,8 + $12 + 35% = $46,98 for one kit. :22yikes:

I'm sorry to bother you, but I really prefer asking the experts and avoiding these costly mistakes. I wrote this post just to illustrate situation of me and my friends in Slovenia. It's not my intention to ask stupid questions or even bother any of you but, AF is just giving me a vision of new dimension in Scale Modeling world which I would like to master.

So, again thank you for your help and helping answers and sorry to those which had a day ruined from my stupid questions!

Re: Explaining my self

The people that gave you the problems should be the ones that are sorry, not you. Everyone has to understand that this is an international board where people sometimes dont speak english that well, and/or dont have the same products as us.

I am sorry people have treated you that way.

Re: Explaining my self

Like GTmike400 said, the people that gave you the bad rap are the ones that should apologize, not anyone else. It is easy to forget that some of us here on AF dont have easy access to otherwise common modeling supplies and are building models in a difficult situation. I can appreciate your situation. If you want a kit or want to try some model building supply, PM me and I will send it to you for free (one time offer) if I can get it.

just to add my voice, please feel free to email me at [email protected] if you need anything. I'm UK based so may be a bit cheaper to send stuff as I am a bit closer to you.

Hang on in there, you seem to be managing with what you can get your hands on. For me that makes you a better modeller that someone who has access to all the 'goodies' they can get their hands on but no skill to use them. If I can help in anyway

dont worry about it man, atleast they dont send you bad rep points for no aparent reson at all like me, i post somthing positive and i get a negative rep point with a comment that says "loser" or "dumbass", i pay no attention to the points as when i look at them and see the hurtfull somtime very hurtfull comments it only depresses me and throws me off modeling. it is most likely the younger members on the board knowing they can yank our chains. sorry for carrying on. im going to go give you a good rep point now, to make up for people ruining your rep because they think your questions are stupid. have a good day man.

about these rep points. I thought the meaning was to give positive points to those posts with good tips or tutorials. And the negative points would be for someone let's say spamimg the board ... but it looks like I was wrong.
And it's really sad that someone can take a lot of your will and mood with just few bad words.
I'll take on jdmhotrod's advice. The knowledge is not in rep points but on our Scale working table, which could be seen everytime when a model is build and pics are attached on this forum - there are the most valuable rep points.
