Scratching noise!
Hey sup...i'm hearing scratching noise from my timing belt..i don't if its rubbing on the cover or if the belt is bad? Can someone please help? Thank you.

I would take off the timing belt cover and see if it is either wearing out or if it's hitting. If the belt is fine then i personally would just leave the cover to the timing belt off and see if it still hits.

I would definetely take the cover off and check it out. You could even have a water pump bearing going out which is really not a good thing. Also look for wear on the belt and wear on the belt tensioner. Hope this helps.

Well i took the cover off.. and the belt is fine. I'll have to check the water pump then?

I think i figured out what it was. Well it seems like my timing belt is really loose and so i think thats whats causing the "scratching noise?" So how do i tightened the belt..what tools do i need?
