Exclamation My electical gremlin is back!!

Alright in my 2002 s10 awhile back I had a problem where the truck would die as soon as i atempted to start it. The original problem was a bad Optima battery. Replaced it and all was good. Then a few months later it came back, had the battery and alternator tested, both came back good. I determined that the problem was my aftermarket terminal post, so i replaced the terminals back to stock and hooked up my sub wire on the top-terminal of the optima. Now yesterday it started doing it again!!!! I don't even have my subs hooked up anymore. I'm gonna go get the battery tested again, and if it is bad then something is seriously screwed up, considering this will be the third optima red-top in 2 years. Any ideas as to where this problem is coming from? It seems to being donig the same thing where it will only be allowed to be jumped sometimes and then after running, and trying to start it a few minuets after shutdown it just dies, no clicks or anything. I'm seriously starting to think there is some sort of serious problem. Peace-

Re: My electical gremlin is back!!

I remember this . When you connect the battery . Does it spark ? more than what the hood light would do ? No sub amp anymore ? I think that if your battery is continously drained low , it will not hold a charge anymore . Thats why they sell the deep cycle type batteries . Maybe you can find an Amperage gauge that can handle 10 to 20 amps and temperarely put it the curcuit to see if anything is draining the battery . disconnect the hood light and close the doors first. Re: My electical gremlin is back!!

Well I had the battery tested and it's fine. Truck starts and runs fine too. The gremlin hides everytime i return from the auto parts store, but then returns at the oh so inconvenient of times. Had the alternator tested too and it is fine. Will have to see how it fairs, and if it happens again i'm gonna take some serious time investigating this problem. Peace-
