Post buy a cat-back or get one made?

Hello, I own a 1994 3000gt and i am having some problems with exhauts. I have been debating either a borla cat-back which has two high flow mufflers right by the cat with 2.5" piping and then it splits to 2" piping or just getting 2 apexi n1 style mufflers and getting 2 1/2" all the way to my cat or 2" or 2 1/4" or whatever would help not lose back pressure. There is the problem. I dont know which one i want to do. I was as loud as i can get it and whne i saw that i want it to be noticable not too loud but i want a huge power gain also. I hear great things about the borla but it is quite expensive. Can anyone help? Thanks.

i wouldnt go with borla, i would do either one of two things

#1 i would either buy a vr-4 catback as it gives nice gains to the N/A cars

or #2 i would get a custom 3 inch catback made at your exhaust shop and get some magnaflow mufflers or some other kind of mufflers to put on there

Re: buy a cat-back or get one made?

but if you put a 3" exhaust on an n/a car, you would lose so much power because of back pressure loss wouldnt you?

As long as you keep the cat you should be fine.

I would check out a downpipe as well. www.3sxperformance.com has one for n/a I believe. If you got that, a high-flow cat, and a vr4 catback, you would be in pretty good shape with decent power gains, and not too much volume to be obnoxious, just noticed.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.
