Question 97 neon wont start

My neighbor has this 97 dodge neon. It dont start, her brother replaced the camshaft and crank sensors, it ran but would die at idle. Obviously hes not a mechanic. I just looked at it, it appears as though the fuel pump isnt kicking on (he replaced that too). When u turn the key nothing happens (usually with a fuel pump u can hear it wind for a second) until you engage the motor. It cranks over fine though. She took it to a garage and they said it was the computer ($900), i think they are trying to f*ck her though. Anyway, im no mechanic, but simple logic would tell me to look for fuel or spark. Anyone got an idea of where the fuel pump relay is, or which fuse i should check? Once again its a 1997 dodge neon 5 spd. Thanx for ur help --

Re: 97 neon wont start

My 1995 neon does the same thing, on a cold start, it wants to die right away. If I give it a little gas it will run fine. And after it warms up there is no problem. There is an idle sensor on mine thats bad. And probably the same on your friends car. It should be less then $100.00 to replace. But the diagnostic is where you should spend about $200.00.

i just replaced a head gasket and when you clic to run the feul pump doesent engage the starter cranks fine but its not getting spark or fuel. I tested the auto shut of relay and it doesent get any power. I dont know if this is a fluke but i did start and run fine twice after i topped of the power steering fluid.
so essentialy my problem is getting power to the auto shut off relay and i did check the fusses
