speedo light went out
i don't know why but the lights that light up my gauge cluster when the headlights are on doesn't work. I took it out to undo the light for the seatbelt warning (it won't go out since i'm changing from auto to manual) and i had also taken off this red plastic strip that is at the top of the cluster, above the speedo. i then put them both back but the light still doesn't work. any ideas?

Re: speedo light went out
i also noticed when i went in there that the plug on the left (by the door), there is a red wire with gray rings on it that isn't connected, it looks like a while back it was cut or something...

Re: speedo light went out
wow a thread all to myself
![]() well i found out the problem, but i'm facing another. the cut wire is the problem, i dunno how it came apart but i think it was a problem fixed badly since hte wires that were exposed were old. anyhow, the wires are hte problem and one of the bulbs are out (i am guessing the bulbs at the top of the cluster are what i'm wanting to fix, lemme know if i'm wrong) well here are my next two problems: 1) the wire coming from the plug is extremely short and i don't know how to connect it to the other wire. i'm gonna go get some more wire of the same guage to connect the two, but how do i connect it exactally? here are some pics ![]() ![]() 2) how do i get the bulb out of the casing? another pic

well your first prob- the wire can be taken out of the plug jus use a small screw driver or a pick n there is a small tap on the inside of the plug u can use to push the connection out of the connector n u jus have to remove the old wire install the new one n recrimp...make sure it clicks back in otherwise when u reconnect the connector it'll push back out...
your secound prob-jus pull the bulb out it looks like a typical 194 bulb prob jus stuck.... |
