Choices

I have found two complete H22a sways and I don't know which one to go with? I found a 97 JDM for $1800 and a 98 USDM for $2800. I know that 98 h22a ecu will not work but, I just don't know about the jdm motor.

Well, I will be moving to San Diego in June and I don't know how hard they check on the emissions test.

oh man it's a B*tch here if u odn't have the hook ups.. U'll have to get a Californa State certified engine. All the smog refs I knew that let jdm engine/ 49 state lega engines have been put out of business. U'll need a Carb sticker and a sticker stating that the engine swap was performed to California vichele laws.. before u can register that vichele here...

Most of my friends in the military (who once lived outside the cali) used PO box's from their old state so they can still file there vichele for that state.

Well I would say find a smog ref in Cali first that will let u slide b4 udo that swap. or you won't be able to register that vichele as a vichele legal for hwy and street use. They'll register it as a race only vichle and fine u if a cop pull u over on a public hwy.

Yeah keep it registered in Penn. But it will still have to be smoged to get on base approval in Cali. You should be okay though.

When it comes time to get your sticker renewed, you will have anywhere from 30 to 90 days to get a smog check done on your out of state registered vehicle. Once you show that you pass you'll be able to renew your decal. The smog check usually takes into consideration that the car was purchased outside of Cali. So if your sticker doesn't need renewing any time soon you'll be okay here. But if Penn doesn't approve of a JDM engine then you won't get an approval in Cali.

Like I said before you should be okay.:smoker2:
