kevlar timing belt

This is actually in regards to my other car, not my honda, but the other forum didn't have much to say, so i figured I'd ask here. I have seen Kevlar timing belts advertised and being that I have to change mine in a few k, I was wondering if you guys had any experience with them...worth the extra money/noticeable improvement? Thanks in advance.

they're supposed to be more durable than standard belts for high horsepower engines.

Re: kevlar timing belt

That's what I heard, I'm planning for ~500hp at the crank, so I will probably go with it, I was just wondering if people had any experience with it, nobody I have talked to has heard anything but advertising.

Re: kevlar timing belt

Yeah, I would very much like to know about a kevlar timing belt for my toyota camry 1997 which has 45000 miles and will need a new timing belt in the near future. Please post a url where to buy it and what is the difference between kevlar and standard toyota parts as well. Thanks.

If you put the Kevlar belt on your engine will your engine be "bullet proof"?
