Lightbulb Dsg

Have you guys/girls seen the new Audi transmition? I know Audi stuff doesn't belong in a 3000gt forum, but those engineers really came up with an inovative idea. Check out the websitehttp://www.audi.com/com/en/new_cars/...iftgearbox.jsp

Do you think it would fit under the hood of a 3kgt, just hypotheticly speaking?

Re: Dsg

anything is possible but that new transmission will be in almost every car within the next 10 years i guarentee it its a real bad ass transmission but the manual shifter will be sorely missed by racers

Question:
isnt that just the same as the tiptronic transmission in all of the new mitsubishis?

Man, I hate all these new trannies and ways of shifting O.o Manuals, at least in my mind, will always be the most fun... Just my 2 cents...

Re: Dsg

I just don't see the differance between that and the "autostick" that chrysler has.

it just seems as though it is just another clutchless manual transmission to me.

given the fact that its on an audi it probably is better in some way but i just cant see how.

the latest MR2 spyder has the same thing.

and yes ive driven in a car with that sort of transission and although it is better than an auto, it just cant compare with a proper manual.

Re: Dsg

Nothing can ever be compared to a manual... All these new trannies seem too watered down and refined...

Amen to that. I'd miss the clutch pedal, and it would take some time to get use to. Even now when I'm driving the pos auto Ranger, I'm still feelin around for the clutch pedal. My SL is like a ferarri compared to this thing... Ok, I'm done... Just miss my Mitsu.
