wheels and tires

I've got a 1997 328i and am looking to upgrade my wheels. I'm looking at putting some 18x8 wheels with some 245/40's on it. Will this work? will it look alright??

i think 225/40/18 are good i think with 245 you may be hitting fenders or inside wheel well
