Volk SF-Challenge's on our cars...look good or bad?

I dont have me VR-4 yet but in a year or so i should. So...when i get it i want to know everything i want to do with it...down to even the little things...like spark plugs. I want to know what i want and read up about it way befor i even get the car so that way i dont get in a trap. Well last week and this week i have been trying to deside what rims i want. I like two rims. Volk SF-Challenge and ROJA Formula 5's, both being in 18's. I really like the SF's but the only thing i dont like is the 3 peice style around the rim. I think it looks cool but i dont want it to take the cars looks away from having that type of rim. Its almost to much. It needs something more plan if you will. And thats why i go to the Formula 5's.

Heres the SF-Challenge's

http://www.mackinindustries.com/rays_sfchallenge.html

And the Formula 5's

http://www.wheelsboutique.com/result...995&txtSize=18

Opps...sorry for the that being so long. Anyways...what do you think about the SF's...to much for a VR-4? Or should i go with the Formula's? But just want to see what you guys think...thanks.

BTW...on the SF's i would get it in Spark silver. I know it doesn't say that you can get it in that...but i think i can get in it a not so gunmetal-ish color.

Hey man, KEEP DREAMING! Not to sound hackneyed, but don't count your chickens before they hatch. Why don't you get this hypothetical VR-4, then start worrying about which rims look better on it! Another cliche: Don't get your hopes up

Re: Volk SF-Challenge's on our cars...look good or bad?

Hey, I said I was gonna have a vr4 5 years before I got it. If he is determined, he can make it happen. No need to go on the offensive, he asked a legitimate question. Personally, I think the rims look pretty similar. If you like that style, you may also want to check out the 5Zigen rims, pretty similar and they only weigh 17lbs each which means more hp to the wheels. I think www.gtpro.com has them on their website.
Also being that you wish to read up alot on your car, as I did. I would recommend a few sites for good reading material.
www.3si.org
this one
www.stealth316.com
www.3kgt.com
www.vr4stealth.com

90% of what I know about our cars came from researching these sites.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: Volk SF-Challenge's on our cars...look good or bad?

Well i already have $7,000 saved up for my VR-4 and its still another year and 5 months till i get it. I make alittle over $1000 a month plus i get about 5000 to 7000 more for another thing i do. I'm a beekeeper and i have my own bee hives and i sell my honey so thats how i get 5000 to 7000 more a year. I know i need to still dream...but i should have about $15,000 to 20,000 for my VR-4. Plus i dont have to pay for eating or living so i dont have that to pay for...and because i work for my dad i dont have taxes. Or i should say i only have one tax that i have to pay...but its like 50 dollars out of 1000, so its no biggie.

I dream big...and i never give up. You could say i'm very determined.

And thanks for the sites. I have gone over stealth316 two times...well...skipping some stuff. But most of it i have read.

About the rims. If you take the bolt's off of the "lip" or whatever you want to call it then it looks the same as the Formula's. But i have looked at 5Zigen and i liked the FN01R-C's. Brain La Fuente shop owner of GT-Pro had some FN01R-C's on his 91 VR-4. Or he did have them on. Who knows what he has now. In the March 04 issue of Modified Mag he had the FN01R-C's on but in the also March 04 issue of Sport Compact Car he had some Racing Hart CP5's on it. So i dont know. Anyways...Igovert...your right...they are nice rims IMO and the weigh is a plus too.

Re: Volk SF-Challenge's on our cars...look good or bad?

why do you have to wait a year and 5 months? in 3 months you'll have enough money to buy a petty decent one

Re: Volk SF-Challenge's on our cars...look good or bad?

I got my base right now. But i'm only 14. And my dad and i both think that a VR-4 is a little to much power for a 14 year old. So my dad and i bought a 95 base and bought half and him the other half. So when i'm 16 he will buy my half of the car from me and i'll use that money for my VR-4. It al most like a free car for a year. Only i use some of my money that i had to buy th car. Some of the 7000 i have now is what i bought with the car. But i know i have that much so i just add the to what i have. Understand?

Good Luck with getting a VR-4. If you work hard you'll have it. You get stung a lot as a beekeeper? I think I like the Formula 5's better. The SF might be too much like you're saying, but that's just my opinion. If you're going for the five spoke kinda look I really like Konig's Holes, just a sugestion. And even more important than rim chioce is what you wrap them in, because the tires are what puts all the power to the ground.

Re: Volk SF-Challenge's on our cars...look good or bad?

LOL...yea...i do get stung alot...about 2-5 times a day, 6 days a week. I was just thinking and i found a way to get more money sooner...witch means more money for my VR-4. It sorta hard to explan but...its good news.

Yea...after looking, then thinking , then looking somemore i may get the FNO1R-C's alot...so right now i'm thinking that or the Formula 5's. But as far as rubber...i want something that has great performance on dry and wet, but yet does not wear real fast. So with that in mind...i was thinking Toyo Proxes 4, Proxes T1-S, or Falken FK451 but i'm not sure how good the FK451's are on wet and i dont know what the wear rate is on them. But what do you guys think...whats has worked the best for you?
