My Mom's 91 Jimmy 4.3 Litre is stumping me on how to get the cluster out. The reason I'm pulling it is because the speedo only works about half of the time and the lights are burnt out behind it. Anyway if someone could give me some directions on pulling it out that'd be great. I have pulled a cluster out of a car before but it was a Jeep Cherokee so theres some noticeable difference. Thanks

Re: Instrument Cluster on a 91
jeepguy
my lights have gone out a couple times. I have to take off the dash cover(housing?) and then put my hands behind the dash and weisel the connectors off. I have to do it again this weekend to replase 4 of the lights that have gone out... I think you will have to slide the heater controlls through the housing before you pull it off though. You will need a pretty long extension to get the 10mm nuts off the housing, and yes you will lose at least one of them in the dash when you do this! best, Dave |

Ya I got that same problem, but how do you get the heater controls out of the way, I'm scared that I'll break or snap something.
