Question Flooring my 1990 3.1 Euro.. Is it Harmful to the Car??

Hello everyone, well, just got this car, 90 lumina euro, with the big wheels (16in rim 215 60 R16 tires) and i must say i like it. Picked it up for 1900.00 and its only got 46,000 miles. I used to drive a ford escort which is 4 cylinder, now i finally got a little more power from the 3.1 v6. Today after getting all the fluids changed and stuff, i figured i should push the car a little. About 5 times, at a stop sign, i floored the gas, the car gets a good 1 seconds burnout-thats it. 0-60 must be in the 9's. I know this car aint no mustang or camaro, so do yall think punching the gas harms the tranny/engine at all?? Oh yeah, my euro is plagued with the damn stalling problem. Just today as i was turning on a big street, the car dies. I think the idle is way to low, it reads about 400-600 rpm at a stop. Can i adjust the idle?? Thanks..

flooring it from a dead stop sure isn't helping the trans or the engine. You WILL burn your transmission up doing this all the time. Not to mention the extra wear on the tires from burnouts. That's probably not helping the stalling problem either.

Clean the throttle body and intake/egr ports if possible and check for vacuum leaks. The harder you are on a car, the less time it lasts.

Get a K&N air filter. Make sure it's breathing okay. It's okay to have fun with it but hard starts waste gas and this isn't a racecar.

keep drag racing it and you'll be back in here asking for advice on replacing your cv halfshafts, etc...
